Imagine being able to drive an electric SUV and never run out of power.
With the introduction of India’s first electric SUV — the eVitara — with a state-of-the-art nationwide charging system, Maruti Suzuki would help to turn that around. Not only does this bold choice redefine electric mobility, but it also sets India on a greener, accessible path to the future.
The eVitara, which will make its public debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, is Maruti Suzuki’s entry into the electric vehicle (EV) market.
Already released by Suzuki Motor Corporation in Milan, Italy, the international version brings together state-of-the-art technology and Maruti Suzuki’s legacy of customer loyalty.
Charging Ahead with Infrastructure
What’s the biggest thing that prevents consumers from transitioning to EVs?
A lack of charging stations.
Maruti Suzuki intends to break this barrier with a complete EV ecosystem, from home charging solutions to an expansive fast-charging infrastructure at dealers and service stations.
“Lack of access to charging is one of the biggest barriers to EVs adoption. “We’re addressing this directly with an EV ecosystem that’s consistent with eVitara,” said Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India.
This visionary move would smooth EV ownership, solving one of the largest pain points for aspiring owners and increasing confidence in electric mobility.
The eVitara: The Future of Electric SUVs!
Can an electric SUV be both efficient, upscale and sustainable?
The eVitara says yes. Based on the eVX platform, it has dual motor all-wheel drive and it gives you 181 bhp and 300 Nm of torque.
Two battery versions – 49 kWh and 61 kWh – offer both range and performance, accommodating various driving requirements. That mix of cutting edge technology and modern styling sets the eVitara up as an aggressive EV competitor.
In addition, production will begin in spring 2025 at Suzuki Motor Gujarat, and sales will start in India, Europe and Japan by summer 2025. The eVitara will compete against models such as the MG Astor EV, Tata Curvv EV and Hyundai Creta EV upon launch.
Beyond a Vehicle – A Whole-System Ecosystem
But what if owning an EV was the same thing as owning a smartphone?
“What Maruti Suzuki is trying to do is not just release a car, but create an ecosystem so that EVs are easy to adopt.
Combining home charging with a network of public fast chargers, the company promises that range anxiety is banished. Such a focus on accessibility, dependability, and ease might be the turning point India’s EV sector is looking for.
Paving the Way for India’s Electric Future.
The eVitara is not just another car Maruti Suzuki is bringing into the world. The firm’s emphasis on both high-tech and infrastructure demonstrates its desire to make EVs accessible and attractive to Indian customers.
Let’s imagine a world of drive-by electric cars and a streamlined charging network. One charge at a time, Maruti Suzuki is making this dream come true.
On a planet moving toward green mobility, the eVitara with its integrated ecosystem makes Maruti Suzuki the leader in India’s electric revolution. Sit tight-the road to the future is now wired!
