X-by-Wire refers to the replacement of traditional mechanical or hydraulic vehicle systems (such as steering and braking) with electronic controls. In an EV, X-by-Wire systems can improve efficiency, reduce the number of moving parts, and enhance precision. For example, steer-by-wire systems eliminate the physical connection between the steering wheel and the wheels themselves, relying instead on electronic signals. This technology also allows for more advanced driver-assist and autonomous driving features, as the vehicle’s systems can be more easily controlled by software.
