A watt is a unit of power that measures the rate at which energy is consumed or produced. One watt is equivalent to one joule per second. In electric vehicles, watts are used to measure both the power output of the motor and the rate at which the battery is charged. For example, a 150 kW motor can produce 150,000 watts of power to drive the vehicle. Similarly, charging stations are typically rated in kilowatts (kW), with higher wattage chargers providing faster charging to the vehicle.
