The Thermal Management System (TMS) in an electric vehicle is responsible for regulating the temperature of the battery and other critical components, such as the motor and inverter. Because EV batteries operate most efficiently within a specific temperature range, the TMS ensures that the battery remains cool during fast charging or heavy driving and warm enough in cold environments to maintain performance. Some TMSs use liquid cooling, while others rely on air cooling. Without proper thermal management, batteries can degrade faster, reducing range and lifespan.
