Quiescent Current

Quiescent current refers to the small amount of electrical current that is drawn from the EV’s battery even when the vehicle is turned off. This current powers essential systems like the alarm, GPS, or remote connectivity systems. Over time, quiescent current can slowly drain the battery, especially if the vehicle is left unused for an extended period. Most modern EVs are designed to minimize quiescent current to preserve battery life, but it’s still recommended to plug in the vehicle if it will be idle for a long time.
