Inductive charging, or wireless charging, uses electromagnetic fields to transfer energy between a charging pad and an EV. The vehicle simply needs to park over the charging pad, eliminating the need for a physical plug. Inductive charging technology is still in development for widespread use, but it promises convenience, especially for autonomous vehicles and fleets. However, inductive charging is generally less efficient than wired charging and can result in slower charging times due to energy losses in the transfer process.
