A hydrogen fuel cell generates electricity by combining hydrogen gas with oxygen from the air in a chemical reaction. The process is highly efficient and produces only water vapor as a byproduct. Hydrogen fuel cells are used in FCEVs (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles) as an alternative to battery electric vehicles (BEVs). Although hydrogen fuel cells offer fast refueling and long driving ranges, the infrastructure for hydrogen refueling stations is still underdeveloped compared to electric vehicle charging networks.
