Extreme Fast Charging (XFC) refers to the next generation of ultra-fast EV chargers that offer power levels of 300 kW or more, significantly reducing charging times. XFC technology aims to make EV charging times comparable to refueling a gasoline car, with the potential to add hundreds of miles of range in under 10 minutes. XFC is still in development, but it represents a major advancement in charging infrastructure, reducing the time constraints associated with long-distance EV travel. However, not all EVs are compatible with XFC, and battery technology needs to evolve to handle the higher power safely.
